DESCRIPTION: EPW - Jos. Bramley, London, cylinder fusee with calendar, 61mm, silver OF original pair cases bearing London hallmarks for 1797, incuse "I G" marking for casemaker Joseph Glenny, white enamel dial, KWKS, cylinder escapement, diamond endstone, gilt mvt with pierced and engraved foliate scrolled balance cock having grotesque mask at its neck, gilt locking dust-cap, s#2732 with matching serial number within case. Comes with two gilt keys made from pierced and engraved foliate scrolled balance cocks, one with grotesque mask at its neck, the other with engraved flower basket.
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, good calendar function, excellent-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, bright lustrous plates with some typical mild fine to micro-fine scratches; dial has hls at perimeter between 2:30 and 4, some scattered scratches with the most visible near 10, some mild edge flakes and few minuscule nicks at center; fine hands, hour with small soldered repair, minute with mild bend; outer case with rebuilt hinge area having play at hinge and leaving adjacent gap when closed, outer case otherwise shows light wear, some mild nicks, button latch good with notably small button design; inner case shows light wear, some dings around perimeter and few mild dings to rear, outer case shows light wear, gapping at hinge, no dents or dings, button latch good; inner case shows light wear, scattered fine scratches on rear, few dents around rear edges with the most notable being a creased-shaped one at 3; bow pivots freely; good domed glass crystal.
